What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides non-medical support to families during the weeks and months following childbirth. Our doulas offer practical help with newborn care, emotional support, and evidence-based information to help you navigate the postpartum period with confidence.
How can a Nurtured Beginnings Doula help support me?
Our doulas are pros in bringing calm during the chaos. We are there to provide newborn care including feeding assistance (breastfeeding and/or bottle), diapering, bathing, and soothing. We also aim to support you in implementing routines that work for your family and assist with baby-related household tasks, ensuring a smoother transition for all.
What areas do you serve?
Currently we have teams in Houston, Dallas, and Austin, TX and are expanding to Boston, MA.
How much does support cost?
We believe pricing should be as straightforward as the care we provide. That’s why we’ve chosen a simple hourly rate with no hidden fees or confusing pricing tiers. You can select the support that fits your needs, with the confidence of knowing exactly what you’re paying for every step of the way.
Do you accept insurance?
While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide you with a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance company or HSA/FSA for potential reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider.
How far in advance should I book services?
We recommend booking as early as possible, ideally during your first of second trimester. This gives you the best opportunity to be matched with a doula who can best accommodate your schedule needs. However, we understand that needs arise at different times, and we’ll do our best to accommodate last-minute requests based on availability.
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy! Simply complete the contact form and select a time that works best for you for a consultation. We’ll discuss your family’s needs and create a plan specifically for you.
